The Ministry of Science, Innovation and University has published today the report 'Job placement of university graduates - Course 2013-2014, which includes the affiliation to Social Security of university graduates four years after finishing their undergraduate studies.
The report is clear in its conclusions, "to study some Engineering offers more possibilities of having a job to the fourth year of finishing the race".
The students of Engineering surpass the 80% of affiliation to the Social Security, whereas the students of Right (55.7%) and Humanities (57.6%) are those that less affiliations register to the fourth year of finishing their studies.
The Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) has made its own study of employability among its alumni and the data corroborate the employability of its studies in Engineering, Architecture and Business.
85% of those who graduate in the UPCT begin working in less than a year after completing their degree studies, according to a survey conducted among graduates of the courses 2015-16 and 2016-17.
The percentage of job placement per year of holder rises to 91% among the alumni of master's degrees of the UPCT.
In addition, 83% of the graduates surveyed and 93% of those who completed master's degrees assure that they needed the university degree obtained to work.
The highest rates of employability are provided by the titles of the Engineering branch, with 90% of employment among graduates and 92% among those who have completed a master's degree.
The rates are also around 90% among those who complete postgraduate courses in the branches of Architecture and Social Sciences.
Self-employment is notable among graduates of the Polytechnic of Cartagena, according to the study carried out by the UPCT.
5% of the graduates and 10% of the master's degree graduates are self-employed, a symptom of the entrepreneurial skills acquired by the students.
It should be remembered that the University has an Office of Entrepreneurs and Technology-Based Companies and that each course is carried out in the UPCT hundred and a half of advisory actions to develop business ideas.
Self-employment is especially numerous among graduates and master's degree in the branch of Architecture (around 30%) and among those who have postgraduate degrees in Social Sciences (19%).
The alumni of the Polytechnic of Cartagena not only find their place quickly in the labor market but they do it mostly in the Region of Murcia.
Only 16% of recent graduates go to another province to work and only 4% do so abroad, which is why the flight of talent is minimal.
Specifically, 36% of graduates in UPCT degrees work in the region of Cartagena and 43% do so in the rest of the municipalities of the Region.
