Coinciding with the beginning of summer, the City of Cartagena in collaboration with the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia has put to full performance the device of the Surveillance and Rescue Plan on beaches with a total of 26 posts that will be operational until day 1 September, and then they will be deactivated in a phased manner, closing the last ones in the month of October.
As explained by the councilor of the area of ​​Public Safety, Public Road and Celebrations, Juan Pedro Torralba, all of them are currently operating with their corresponding specialized personnel on Saturday, June 29.
They will be open every day of the week in the hours of most influx of bathers, from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm "to offer an adequate service that allows citizens to enjoy the bathroom safely."
Torralba has specified that the deployment of media has, with two quad, an ambulance, two VIR (rapid intervention vehicles) with infirmary, two rescue watercraft and two boats to rescue people and boats, in addition to a total of 80 professionals, among which are those of the service: operators for the 112 terminal, nurses, drivers, employers and lifeguards.
750 INTERVENTIONS IN JUNE
As you will remember the implementation of the device in a phased manner was advanced this year to the weekends of the month of May due to the large influx of users for the good weather.
The posts that opened those first weekends were the Galuá, Entremares, Cala Cortina and San Ginés.
The first two weekends in June, those of Mar de Cristal, Cala del Pino, Cabo de Palos Levante and Los Nietos were added.
From June 16, the opening was made daily and others were added until reaching twelve at the Playa del Galúa, Playa del Zeus, Playa del Barco Perdido (Sirens), Playa del Barco Perdido.
(Entremares), Levante Beach (Cabo de Palos), Calblanque Beach, Cala Cortina Beach, Portús Beach, San Ginés Beach, Mar de Cristal Beach, Cavanna Beach and Cala del Pino.
In all of them, during the month of June more than 750 health care (small wounds, marine animal bites, eye washings ...) and 39 people were rescued due to the different days of yellow and red flag.
The ambulance went to 28 warnings, of which 10 have needed transfer.

From the Fire Extinguishing, Salvage and Civil Protection Service, a series of recommendations to citizens to enjoy a safe bath are remembered, such as:

Avoid sudden changes in temperature

Bathe in supervised beaches and pay attention to the recommendations of the lifeguards
