One more year, La Palma organizes its National Folklore Festival in the region of Cartagena, which this year celebrates its XXVII edition, and that will be held from next Saturday, July 6 until day 14 by the Folklore Group 'City of Cartagena 'of this deputation next to the Councilorship of Culture of the City council.
The inauguration and opening of the photo exhibition 'Inherited Land' by Joaquín Giró in the exhibition hall of the Casa del Folklore at 9:00 pm on Saturday and which can be visited from Sunday until the end of the festival, will start the festivities that will be developed during a whole week.
During the week there will be activities for all ages such as guided visits to the House of Folklore, another cultural Cartagena and also the Agro-Food Experimental Station, in addition to others aimed at children with workshops and a concert.
Also within the cultural theme, the director of ANSE, Pedro García Moreno, will make a presentation on Tuesday on the transformation to irrigation and recent changes in the Campo de Cartagena, as well as its consequences on the landscape and people.
On the other hand, the sculpture 'Bailes' will be inaugurated on Friday night that will host the patio of Las Casas Grandes by the author Cristóbal Hernández Barbero.
The music, great protagonist of the week, will be present with the concert of Jaime Lafuente and Jesús Ronda 'Rogues and other melodies', to make way for the Great Folk Night to be held on Friday with the group Xavier Díaz & Adufeiras Salitre Galicia.
The Folklore Festival will put an end to the celebrations on Saturday with the performance of the children's groups' Santa Florentina 'and the City of Cartagena' of La Palma, 'Santiago' of Huesca, 'Niño Jesús de Balate' of Choirs and Dances of Mula and 'Val de San Lorenzo' of León.
