The problematic and the potentialities of the value enhancement of the maritime culture of the Region of Murcia and its underwater cultural heritage center the conference with which this Monday has inaugurated the III International Summer Campus of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) ).
The underwater archaeologist specializing in cultural diffusion and management Carlota Pérez Reverte has explained in the inaugural lecture a practical case, the creation of an underwater archaeological route in the Phoenician site of the Bajo de la Campana, in front of La Manga.
In addition, one of the courses offered by the campus deals precisely with the submerged History of the Port of Cartagena and will take place on August 23.
"The Region, and specifically Cartagena, has underwater heritage of all times and conditions and climate to turn it into a resource for sustainable and responsible development," said the speaker.
The UPCT returns with this third International Summer Campus to boost the educational and cultural activity of the center of Cartagena during the summer months, with an extensive range of workshops to be held in its Faculty of Business Sciences, in front of the port, and with complementary nautical activities.
"We believe that it is important for Cartagena to have culture and leisure offer in July and August, as well as other cities that play a leading role in the summer, such as Santander and Salamanca," said the rector, Alejandro Díaz.
In the organization of this project also participate Funcarele (Foundation of Cartagena for the Teaching of the Spanish Language and Culture), the Real Club de Regatas de Cartagena, the Menéndez Pelayo International University, the Chamber of Commerce of Cartagena, the City of Cartagena , the Port Authority of Cartagena and the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia.
The languages ​​are one more year the cornerstone of the International Campus, with intensive courses in July to prepare the Trinity exams that certify the level of English, and with specific programs of legal English, for medicine, tourism, customer service and for computer scientists .
There will also be introductory courses in translation and teaching of Spanish, along with an intensive Spanish course.
More exotic will be Japanese courses for travelers, from 'shodô', Japanese calligraphy, and 'laidô', the Japanese art of saber draining.
Female personal defense, applications of drones for civil and commercial use, gastromarketing, social networking strategies for the company, marketing in real time and ethical and legal problems of surveillance are other topics of the courses, which also include one of Lego Serious Play focused for teachers due to its didactic potential.
The nautical activities that are offered include diving baptism and light sailing, as well as courses of both disciplines, departures in dragon boat, route to the coves in kayak and snorkel.
