Next Friday, June 28, at 7:30 pm, at the Roman Theater Museum in Cartagena, the presentation of the book "La sombra de la memoria", by José María Álvarez, published by Editorial Balduque, will take place.

'The shadow of memory', brings together in 1036 pages the five diaries of José María Álvarez written to date and covering from 1992 to 2015;
the Diary of 'The Bronze Serpent' (1992-1993), Diary of 'La lágrima de Ahab' (1996-1997), 'Diario del Exilio' (2002-2011), 'Without Prisoners!' (2012-2013) ) and Diary of 'Seek to know no more' (2014-2015).
In the words of the poet Alfredo Rodríguez, author of the prologue, his pages "make up a constellation of Álvarez's literary world and an invaluable memory exercise".
It is a miscellaneous book, a collection of "snapshots or moments, discoveries, literary rescues, beautiful cities, unforgettable journeys, interesting characters (real and literary), lucid, penetrating glances, memories of memories, accumulated fragments of a puzzle where the real-real and sometimes even the imaginary meet, and all with that lucid memorialistic background and testimony of a tireless literary task ".

José María Álvarez (Cartagena, 1942).
Poet, narrator, translator and essayist.
Bachelor of Philosophy and Arts in the specialty of Geography and History, his passion for literature and travel has made him one of the most cosmopolitan and free voices of our literature.
Poetry highlights its great central work, Wax Museum, which has been expanding from the first edition in 1974 to the seventh and last in 2016.
His translations, among others, of Kavafis, TS Eliot or Shakespeare have contributed significantly to the development of Spanish poetry.
His work in prose is also extensive and some novels, such as La esclava instrucida, have enjoyed international repercussions.
A multitude of awards and recognitions accompany his tireless and fruitful career.
