A municipal driver of the Department of Infrastructures and Services of the Litoral of the City of Cartagena was slightly injured about 19 o'clock in the afternoon of Tuesday, June 25, in an accident registered in the Cuesta del Cedacero.

The truck that drove, consisting of tractor and container, left the road for unknown reasons at the height of kilometer 11, overturning and dumping the algae that came from the cleaning of the beaches of La Azohía and Isla Plana.

The municipal employee, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered bruises on the face of low severity and gave negative blood alcohol tests and drugs made by the Civil Guard traffic.

Personnel of the technical services of the council and firefighters of the Service of Fire Extinguishing, Salvage and Civil Protection of the City of Cartagena moved to the place to remove the vehicle, helped by a crane and clean the road, while the agents of the Guard Civil regulated traffic that was interrupted in one of the lanes, ending the intervention at ten o'clock at night.

CLEANING WORKS IN THE LESSER SEA

Sources of the Department of Infrastructure and Services of the Coast, directed by María Casajús, have indicated that this setback will not affect the cleaning of the beaches that are usually carried out in the Isla Plana and La Azohía area;

at the same time they have announced an intensification of the manual work of removal of algae and topzones that is registered in the Mar Menor.

In this sense it has been warned of the persistence of the easterly winds during all these days, which will produce trawls to the western coast, mainly Los Urrutias.

To face this and facing the weekend, the staff of the City Council has intensified its collaboration with the company TRAGSA contracted by the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia to perform these tasks, while the staff hired by the consistorio through the Employment and Training Service (SEF) will do the same in the vicinity of the beaches of Los Nietos.
