CCOO Teaching demands that the Ministry fulfill the promise it had made to the educational community of the CEIP "José María de la Puerta" of the Peral neighborhood of Cartagena that would remove during this summer the existing asbestos in this educational center.
Surprisingly, the Deputy Director General of Infrastructure and Economic Management, reported a few days ago to the management team and the AMPA of the College that the removal of asbestos would not be carried out.
CCOO denounces that this change of criteria that lacks any kind of justification is made after the suggestion of the General Director of Centers had suspended the summer school that traditionally organizes the AMPA during the month of July and that has finally been could transfer to the CEIP "San Felix".
This reversal of the Ministry leaves in bad place the still adviser of Education Adela Martinez that confirmed on May 23 (election eves, by the way) to FAPA Cartagena directives the imminent start of the tender of the work that has a project made by the City Council of the departmental capital, which had received from the Ministry assurances that the work would be carried out.
CCOO Enseñanza rejects that there is a supposed and supervening lack of budget, requires that the withdrawal of committed asbestos be carried out and demands a regional plan of asbestos removal from the more than 150 schools in the region in which there is presence of this dangerous material.
CCOO Enseñanza supports and supports the mobilizations announced by the AMPA of the "José María de la Puerta" and will promote, within the framework of the Zero Asbestos Platform, all the necessary actions to clean the public educational centers of this undesirable presence.
