The exhibition hall of the Ramón Alonso Luzzy Cultural Center hosted during the last afternoon of this Thursday, June 6, the opening of the exhibition of the students of the Workshops Area of ​​the Popular University of Cartagena that ends the academic year and in the who have participated around 200 students.
The opening ceremony, which took place at 7:30 p.m., was attended by the acting councilor of Culture, David Martínez, the director of the Popular University, José Macián and the professors of all the participating workshops of Drawing and Painting , Crafts, Ceramics and Cutting and sewing.
During their work during the course, the students of the Ceramic Workshop have worked with porcelain incorporating color as an expressive element and from a contemporary perspective.
On the other hand, the works of the Sculpture Workshop are protagonized by the invisibility when using wire as material builder of the volumes, giving rise to forms lacking in mass but not less present.
The Drawing and Painting Workshop has presented a collection of sketches extracted from the sketchbooks that have served as support for the daily work in the workshop.
As for the Crafts Workshop, it has focused on the "Raw Materials", the use of different materials and traditional techniques addressed from the current design and innovation;
He has also proposed the "Arte-Sano" for everyone, works that are inspired by the 3Rs: Recycle, Reuse and Reduce.
Finally, the members of the Textile Clothing Workshop have developed a collection of current air dresses based on fabrics with games rich in textures and colors.
This exhibition, which can be visited until June 28, ends the closing acts of the various courses and workshops of the Popular University that have been held throughout this week.
