This Thursday, June 6, has been held in the Hall of Ceremonies of the Palace Hall the closing of the course for seniors 'A walk through the history of Cartagena: traditions and customs' organized by the Unit for Seniors and People with Disabilities, of the Department of Social Services of the City of Cartagena.
The Councilor for Social Services Acting in Cartagena, Mercedes García, congratulated the people who have attended periodically since October of 2018 to the sessions.
"I congratulate you for wanting to continue participating in the active life and wanting to continue learning and learning."
In a fun way, the participants have been able to combine theory and practice on the history of Cartagena.
Behind these activities, there has been a group of volunteers.
Speakers who have altruistically collaborated with the project to transmit their legacy.
Javier Sánches de Páramo spoke about the daily life of the cartagenera bourgeoisie, Egyptian art or the traces of funerary art to the Cemetery of Our Lady of Remedies.
Cristina Alcantuz spoke about the history of women in the city, Diego Quevedo spoke of the secular relationship between the Spanish Armada and the House of Borbón, Diego Ortiz exhibited the work of Cartagena painter Nicomedes Gómez.
Luis Miguel Pérez Adán, on the other hand, talked about the ceramics of José Angosto García.
Juan Manzanares explained how the Cartagena shipyard was.
Mercedes Faz, Vicente Vilar and Lourdes Guillén have also participated in the coinferences.
In addition to theoretical training, those attending these courses have taken field trips.
They have also attended exhibitions.
