Navantia is committed to progressively reduce the carbon emissions of its operations and supply chains to zero, with different measures such as improving its energy efficiency, reducing the carbon footprint of its products and services, and increasing investment. in the development of products that are climate-smart and have low emissions.
The president of Navantia, Susana de Sarriá, emphasizes that "for Navantia it is a priority objective to make compatible its production activity with respect for the environment".
"To achieve this," he says, "we have an environmental management system, the ISO 14001: 2015 standard, through which the environmental variable is integrated at all levels of the organization."
Navantia is firmly committed to being involved in the "Sustainable Development Goals" established in the 2030 Agenda by the UN, such as the efficient use of water, the use of renewable energies, modern and sustainable services for energy efficiency, clean processes and technologies, reduction of waste and recycling activities and the prevention of marine pollution.
Several activities have been carried out at the Cartagena Shipyard, ranging from conferences to an exhibition of sustainable mobility vehicles, such as electric bicycles, electric mopeds, cars and vans.
In addition, the celebration of World Environment Day has been used to inaugurate and put into operation ten connection points for electric cars, with the aim of facilitating the mobility of workers.
Charging points for bicycles and motorcycles have also been installed in reserved spaces such as parking for these vehicles, while compactors / crushers have been installed in the vending machines, and machines have been updated to serve the coffee in the container that carries the worker himself.
