The rector of the Autonomous University of Coahuila, in Mexico, Salvador Hernández Vélez, today signed an agreement with the rector of the UPCT, Alejandro Díaz Morcillo, which establishes the bases and collaboration mechanisms for the development of academic programs and projects of interest common in the areas of research, innovation and knowledge management.
The agreement is designed to enable the realization of research co-supervision for doctoral students of the Faculty of Accounting and Administration of the Autonomous University of Coahuila by researchers from the Faculty of Business Sciences of the Polytechnic of Cartagena.
Researchers in Business Sciences of both academic institutions have been collaborating for about fifteen years and are currently developing a research project, in which the UPCT professor Domingo García Pérez de Lema participates, on the entrepreneurial activity of Mexican migrants in U.S.
Three Masters students and five Doctorate students in Business Administration and three professors from the Autonomous University of Coahuila have already made a three-week stay last year at the School of Business Sciences of the UPCT.
The presence of Mexican students in the UPCT has doubled in recent years, from 28 in the 2015-16 academic year to 50 in 2018-19.
