The president of honor of the law firm Garrigues, Antonio Garrigues Walker, said today that he has "a tremendous faith in the Mediterranean Corridor", while arguing that this infrastructure "is vital for the development of the Mediterranean and Cartagena."
"We have to believe the enormous potential that Cartagena has, both at the tourist and industrial levels," said Garrigues Walker, who starred in a luncheon-conference at the events organized to mark the 40th anniversary of the Regional Confederation of Business Organizations of Cartagena.
During his speech, he defended the role of business in the growth and modernization of Spain, and encouraged to have an open mind about the size of business.
"We live in a globalized world where entrepreneurs have to be," he added.
In this sense, he advocated to explore markets such as China, Indonesia, Japan or Ibero-America, and recalled the entrepreneurial vocation that carries in his DNA the economic activity.
"You have to have a global mind," he argued.
Who was the founder of the late Liberal Democratic Party (PDL) also referred to the current situation of the country, noting that "continues to grow and has modernized."
In his opinion, "we have no right to be pessimistic in Spain" -
In contrast, for Garrigues Walker, the president of the United States, Donald Trump, is "a drama for the world".
The lawyer and former politician, who upon his arrival in Cartagena visited the Roman Theater, highlighting the important role played in its reconstruction, was accompanied by the president of COEC, Pedro Pablo Hernández.
Afterwards, he moved to the restaurant Eszencia of the El Batel Auditorium, where he gave a conference attended by fifty representatives of the civil society of the region, mainly businessmen headed by the COEC board of directors.
Pedro Pablo Hernández was in charge of presenting Garrigues Walker, who thanked him for his presence to open what will be a cycle of meetings designed by the Cartagena employers for the 40 years of its constitution.
