The Local Police of Cartagena inspected 984 vehicles during the Campaign of surveillance and control of the safety belts and child restraint systems carried out in collaboration with the General Directorate of Traffic from the 20th to the 24th of May.
The agents made a total of 13 complaints during this time, eight of them to drivers.
With this preventive campaign it has been tried to make all drivers and passengers aware that the safety belt is a basic and fundamental element of road safety and halves the risk of death in the event of an accident.
Local Police officers have verified that passenger cars, taxis, buses and freight vehicles use seat belts and child restraint systems correctly.
The controls have been carried out in different parts of the city, preferably in neighborhoods and councils.
