Francisco Artés Calero, professor emeritus of the area of ​​Food Technology of the UPCT, has been honored this Friday honorary doctor by the Università di Foggia in recognition of his decisive contribution to the possibility of consuming fresh fruits and vegetables of quality through the transformation into IV and V Gama products, ready-to-eat products.
The Italian university stands out from the researcher at the Polytechnic of Cartagena who is universally recognized as a pioneer in the fresh preservation of fruits and vegetables.
At the same time, the multidisciplinarity of his research career stands out, in which techniques of engineering, microbiology, chemistry and agronomy have been combined.
During the investiture ceremony, the rector of the UPCT, Alejandro Díaz Morcillo, said that this investiture "is a personal recognition of the figure of Professor Artés but also for the Polytechnic University of Cartagena."
Artés, Díaz has remembered is the first honorary doctorate in the 20 years of life of the UPCT.
