It appears specified in the Nomenclator - index of toponyms- of Cartagena of 1859, in the Census of 1887 and is referenced in the Nomenclator of 1890, so it is known of its existence since the mid-eleventh century, maintaining its use a long time, until entered the twentieth century.

It was restored by the Spanish Union of Explosives in 1970 and the CAM of Cartagena put it on the check books and on a poster in its offices, thus recognizing the tourist and historical value it has.

The tower of the truncated cone-shaped mill is 7.30 m high, 4.50 m in diameter at the base and 3.80 m in diameter at the crown, it is built of lime and stone masonry, with lime mortar coating and sand.

Inside, these walls are plumb and have a cylindrical shape, also coated with lime mortar.

After a prolonged abandonment and a series of arson, the situation of the mill was ruinous, it was evident the degradation of the tower, the coatings, the carpentry had disappeared completely burned and plundered, presenting permanent deteriorations with moisture, cracks, chipped.

The deterioration of the same one took to that the City council of Cartagena considered a integral action on the mill, writing up a restoration project that was presented to a subsidy of the Autonomous Community that was granted at the end of 2017.

The interior was originally divided into three floors;

low, intermediate and superior that at the present time they were not conserved, reason why the recovery of spaces and the separation of the cameras has been realized by forged of wood.

Access to the upper chambers is through a masonry staircase and fully recovered wood.

The first floor with windows to the outside was the room for the miller, while on the upper floor under the spire stood the machinery of the mill, where the rotation of the blades was transmitted to the axis of the air.

When they are empty they will allow their use with tourist functionality, of a formative nature for small groups and even exposing the work that is carried out on the mill itself.
