The Local Government Board, meeting this morning, which is expected to be the last decision session before the municipal elections next Sunday, has initially approved the adaptation of the urbanization project of the Rambla sector partial plan, in its polygons 1 and 2, written by the municipal technical services of Urbanization and Works, as informed by the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, at the end of the meeting.
The adaptation has consisted in giving a greater definition to the layout of the main road.
The future Canton Avenue, currently executed on its section of the polygon 3 next to the Sports Palace, will connect this area with the Cartagonova Stadium Bridge, through polygons 1 and 2. It will have four lanes and two intermediate roundabouts. traffic distribution.
The original layout contemplated in the Partial Plan presented some deficiencies due to cartographic and topographical errors that have now been corrected.
According to the mayor explained, from now on a period of one month will be opened to facilitate participation in the citizens' file and the mandatory reports will be required to the Segura Hydrographic Confederation and the Taibilla Channel Community, after which it can be approved definitively and start the works.
SEASONAL MARKET IN LOS URRUTIAS
The Governing Board has also approved the creation of a street vending market in Los Urrutias, widely demanded by residents.
As the mayor explained, it will be a seasonal market that will operate between September 30 and June 30.
It will have 64 posts and its award will be carried out after a call process, whose bases have also been approved this morning by the Board.
72 MILLION IN WORKS EXECUTION
Castejón has also reported that during the Governing Board has been reported the actions taken in the Area of ​​Quality of Life relating to environmental sanctions.
The mayor has specified that from September 8, 2018 to May 21, 2019, this department has imposed 95 environmental sanctions, which have resulted in fines amounting to 377. 521 euros.
It has also been reported the planning licenses processed between October 3, 2018 and May 21, 2019, which account for works execution budget amounting to 72,331,679 euros, and which included the construction, reform or rehabilitation of 645 housing, as well as the installation or reform of 268 commercial or business premises.
Through these procedures the City will obtain an income of 668,702 euros for fees and 2,893,267 euros for the construction and works tax (ICIO).
With regard to urban sanctions, during this period 55 have been imposed that add fines amounting to 266,983
According to the mayor, the data show the strength and economic dynamism of the municipality, even though it lacks a General Urban Plan.
REHABILITATION OF THE ANCIENT CATHEDRAL
Finally, among other matters, the mayor has given an account of the agreement of the Governing Board by which the collaboration agreement to be signed soon by the City Council and the Bishopric of Cartagena for the convening of a contest of ideas that will be approved the rehabilitation of the Cathedral of Santa María la Mayor de Cartagena, in accordance with the protocol signed a few weeks ago by both institutions with the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Development.
The mayor has expressed her desire that the agreement be signed soon and the contest may be called as soon as possible.
