With the aim of raising public awareness about the problems of Diabetes, on Monday, the 20th, the series of conferences, talks and workshops launched by the Diabetes Society of Cartagena and Comarca (SODICAR) began in collaboration with the Department of Services. Social Affairs of the City Council.
The day began with the Senderista Route to the Roman Canteras in the morning in collaboration with the Associação Socio Cultural Sendas Senior that departed from the Wssell Sports Pavilion in Guimbarda.
In the afternoon, from 7:00 pm, the activities continued with the inauguration of the cycle of conferences in the Chamber of Acts of the CAM, in charge of the Councilor for Health, Carmen Martín, and the President of Sodicar, María Dolores García Ros, giving way to the conference "Sun protection and skin cancer prevention" by Dr. Ángel López Ávila, head of the Dermatology Service of Hospital Santa María del Rosell, in Cartagena.
The cycle will end on Tuesday 21 with the conference-workshop "Healthy shopping and weekly menu organization", taught by María Soledad Sánchez Meroño, a graduate in Human Nutrition and Dietetics and an official master's degree in Clinical Nutrition.
This year, these days fulfill their XXXVI edition coinciding with the 36th anniversary of the constitution of the non-profit and self-help association, on May 10, 1983.
