The Festival Much More May, organized by the Department of Culture, has scheduled for this Sunday May 19 the performance 'Border Disanancias', Colectivo [1668] - Action Open directed by Dómix Garrido, which can be seen at 12, 30 hours on the esplanade of the Port, next to Cola de Ballena.
Disonancias Fronterizas is the title of the project that brings together a series of artistic interventions through performance, installation, sound or video art as media for social reporting and raising awareness in the field of Human Rights and hot spots that provoke humanitarian crises: exoduses , wars, borders, migration, refugees ... It presents an action in the public road to show the aggravation of these conflicts.
As main element a pneumatic boat, confiscated by the authorities and used by traffickers to cross the Strait.
They also work with megaphones and flags representative of the 39 nationalities of people who have crossed our borders illegally.
Dómix Garrido (Archena, Murcia, 1963) directs the Colectivo [1668] - Abierto de Acción.
He is a performer, researcher, curator and cultural manager.
Bachelor of Performing Arts and specialist in Museology and Contemporary Art.
Since 2009, he directs the International Performance Festival 'Abierto de Accion', a platform that promotes the practice, research and dissemination of performance and other experimental languages.
He also teaches workshops on performance, poetic action and creative expression, and in 2014 he developed the scenic creation project 'Teatro en 24 horas'.
He is the Coordinator of Performance and Interventions in the Public Space of KREÆ - Institute of Contemporary Creation Madrid-Lisbon and ARTJAÉN, Contemporary Art Fair.
He has also developed his work as an artist in festivals, museums, art centers and public spaces throughout Spain and other countries such as France, Portugal, Morocco, Italy, Belgium, Austria, Norway and the United States.
Among the recognitions that she has obtained, the scholarship of the EEA Grants (Embassy of Norway) and her selection for the 4th Biennial of Latin American Art of the Bronx (New York) stand out.
