The Department of Social Services of the City of Cartagena, in collaboration with ISEN, has launched a new intergenerational project: "Aula Nueva Era", in which the students of that school teach and solve doubts to older people about new technologies .
It is taught by students in the basic FP administration module every Monday from 12 a.m. to 1 p.m.
to consolidate knowledge and resolve the doubts of the elderly who attend, such as: how to request a medical appointment online or how to make a video call.
The Nueva Era classroom is open to all Seniors who wish to do so and is located on the ground floor of ISEN on Calle Real 68.
With this project, along with the rest of the intergenerational activities that are developed from this Council, it is intended to strengthen relations and enrich links between several generations.
The elderly who are participating in this classroom, like to learn to use new technologies, as well as young people who work as teachers and understand each other wonderfully.
The new technologies are seen, in most of the elderly as something complex, considering mostly not trained to deal with them.
For that reason, the Department of Social Services, has spent years giving courses on them such as: use of smartphone, tablet, computer or social networks.
