On Wednesday, May 15, at the Consistorial Palace of Cartagena, the Councilor for Culture, Tourism and Equality, David Martínez Noguera, and the President of the Women's Association of Cofrades of Cartagena, María Victoria Botí Espinosa, presented the prizes and diplomas to the participants of the Fourth Balcony and Façade Beautification Contest during Holy Week.
The first prize of this edition went to José María Alcalde Méndez and Pedro Pagán Muñoz for the decoration of its balcony and façade in the Plaza del Risueño.
The councilman of Culture of Cartagena, David Martinez, has highlighted the difficulty in choosing the winners of this year.
"Each year is more difficult than in the jury we decide on the order of the prizes, we must thank each year you surpass".
The mayor of Culture also wanted to encourage other people to participate in this event.
David Martinez also recalled that "the important thing is that we live our Holy Week with a lot of love, which is what we have to give on those important dates."
The president of the Association of Women Cofrades of Cartagena, María Victoria Botí, told the participants that "you give the prize to Cartagena, with this you are giving an important example so that the inhabitants of the city get involved with our parties, and especially, with the celebration so important that supposes the Holy Week for Cartagena ".
The representative of the Association of Women Cofrades of Cartagena Maria Remedios Berruezo has proceeded to read the names of the winners in this fourth edition of the Balcony and Façade Competition of the Holy Week in the city:

On April 10, prior to the celebration of Holy Week, the members of the jury composed of David Martínez Noguera, Councilor for Culture, Tourism and Equality;
Elena Ruiz Valderas, director of the Museum of the Roman Theater;
Ángel Julio Huertas Amorós, José Pérez Martínez and Pedro Giménez Saura, responsible for the Art Commissions of the Cofradías California, Marraja and del Resucitado;
Lázaro Gomaríz López, chaplain of the Cofradía del Socorro, and Caridad Banacloig Delgado, Mar Saura Rosique, María Dolores Vilar Albaladejo, María Belén Ruiz Martínez and María Victoria Botí Espinosa, members of the board of directors of the Asociación Cofrades de Cartagena, proceeded to the evaluation of the balconies and facades inscribed in this contest.
