The City of Cartagena, through the Department of Social Services, has offered their cooperation so that the logistics warehouse of the Food Bank of the Region of Murcia remains in Cartagena.
The demand for a rental by the owner of the ship that had been using for this purpose for free in the industrial estate of Cabezo Beaza, has led its managers to consider other alternatives.
In fact, the City Council has been working with the Food Bank managers for a while to manage a new warehouse with adequate space that is economically available.
However, before the news appeared in different media about a possible closure of these facilities and the situation in which the beneficiaries of food aid could be found, it must be specified that these people would not be affected in any way, since from this logistics store food is not distributed directly, but to the associations and entities that then distribute them among the beneficiaries, who will not have to go anywhere other than the distribution points that have been used so far .
Finally, note that the City has been developing actions at local, regional and regional level, so that the Food Bank of Cartagena will be granted the authorization for distribution of the second phase of the FEAD Funds of the year 2019
