A new edition of the Muestra de Teatro Escolar begins, this time, its XXI edition.
The works, which can be seen in May, at 11 am, at the Ramón Alonso Luzzy Cultural Center, will be performed by 12 groups of young actors.
The exhibition, organized by the Department of Education of the City of Cartagena, will start on Monday, May 13, with the work of IES Elcano, 'High School Musical'.
The play, based on the Disney movie, is adapted and directed by Francisco Peña.
The work will last between 50-60 minutes and is aimed at ESO and Bachillerato students.
The works that will be performed in May will be the following: 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang', 'The Island of Feelings',' The Treasure of Black Beard ',' Around the World in 80 Days', 'Merlin, the Enchanting ',' The Lion King ',' Red apples ',' Smell a cat ',' Stiff hair and the island of little thing ',' Why do birds die? ',' The Circus of Horror 'and' Paula's dream. '
They will be interpreted by students from CEE Primitiva López, Miralmonte School, Sacred Heart of Jesus School, CEIP José María Lapuerta, CEIP Atalaya, CEIP Our Lady of the Sea, Pedro Peñalver IES, Vicente Medina CEIP, La Asomada CEIP, CEIP Ciudad Jardín and CEIP Virgen del Carmen.
A team of specialized theater monitors advise the team of young actors and actresses of each center who, together with the teachers responsible for the activity, rehearse and work on the chosen work throughout the course, as well as making costumes and sets in the one involving fathers and mothers who collaborate in the accomplishment of the props of the work.
On this occasion, the monitor was José Salguero.
The Councilor for Education, Mercedes García, will attend the inauguration of the theatrical exhibition.
