"This is the future."
With these words has described the rector of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT), Alejandro Díaz, the science and technology fair organized annually by the University, the Campus of Engineering, and through which 4,500 students pass Infant, Primary, Secondary and Baccalaureate of centers throughout the Region.
According to the Rector, "this means the next 20 years of university education at this university," he said before highlighting that for three days young people discover in a playful way the "fascinating" world of Engineering, Architecture or Business, careers that are taught in the UPCT.
During three days, 4,500 students travel personalized itineraries through informative workshops in small groups.
The number is limited to 1,500 visitors per day to ensure optimal care, said the Rector.
In this sense, in this edition, in which 60 UPCT professors participate, with about 100 collaborating students and 76 volunteers who act as a guide for school groups, 54 workshops have been prepared by the Polytechnic University of Cartagena , 12 of companies and institutions, 16 of colleges and institutes and 2 architectural exhibitions.
Young people can learn to recognize seeds, consider the influence of microplastics in different ecosystems, know the operation of an electronic sports competition, a workshop of sounds, music and waves, participate in an escape room of Agronomists, see a rain simulator or participate in a sustainable urban mobility game.
Among the workshops of this edition also highlights a trivial about the safe use of the Internet and social networks or the 3D printing workshop applied to the building.
In addition to these, visitors can also become civil engineers analyzing the operation of the drainage network of a street section in a rain simulator.
