The mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, has decreed the start of the Municipal Honors and Distinctions file so that the press room of the Town Hall bears the name of the photographer José Albaladejo Ros, who died last September.

The public exhibition of this file was opened today, Monday, May 6, for a period of one month, along with others so that two places in the neighborhood of El Plan and Llano del Beal are dedicated to the memory of two women, neighbors of both locations.

In the case of who was a photojournalist and municipal photographer for more than 20 years, the file has been initiated at the request of the Association of Press Graphic Informers of the Region of Murcia (AIG), which highlights its extensive work working for Diario 16 Murcia, Agencia EFE, Cante de las Minas Foundation, Mercado magazine and Cartagena City Council, among others.

His work as a photojournalist in Cartagena, is for the proponents a clear example of professionalism, especially through the photographs he made of the hard years of the industrial crisis, the demands of workers of public companies, the festival of Cante de Las Minas and others, such as those made for the City of Cartagena for more than 20 years, the latter, the best known and used by the general public, especially through its dissemination illustrating news and reports from the municipal website.

For its part in the neighborhood of the Plan, at the request of its association of neighbors, has begun the file for the nomination of the square of Isabel Hernández Navarro, next to the social premises.

This is to recognize the work of which was the first president of the neighborhood association, deceased in 1990.

Finally, in Llano del Beal, the procedures for the nomination of the Dolores Peña García Park have been initiated, in recognition of the fact that she was a midwife in the town for many years, helping the arrival of many neighbors in the world.

Died in 1994 the initiative of this nomination was unanimously agreed by the Neighborhood Board.

The recently remodeled proposed public space is located between Calderón de la Barca and General Vives streets.

Citizens and entities that wish to do so may appear in the file or submit a letter of adhesion, as indicated in the advertisements published in the local press and the municipal bulletin board.
