The Mandarache Project closes this week its fourteenth edition in a big way, receiving again in Cartagena the two winning authors, Paco Roca and Fernando Lalana, who will participate in a live writing jam and collect their awards in the expected gala of delivery of prizes that will take place on Wednesday May 8 at the El Batel Auditorium with the presence of 1,400 students from the nearly 6,000 who have participated in the project this year.
The gala, which will be broadcast live on the Internet through the YouTube channel of Actualidad of the City of Cartagena, is one of the most exciting moments of each year.
Directed this year by the actress and director Beatriz Maciá, during the same, in addition to the delivery of the prizes to the winning writers and the complementary prizes, the official finalists of the next edition will be announced.
On the other hand, the winning authors will begin their program the day before, on Tuesday, May 7 at 7:00 p.m. in the temporary room of the ARQVA National Museum of Underwater Archeology, where they will accompany the fifteen young authors and authors of the Mandatache Libreta workshop in a live writing jam, that every year conquers more public.
This impromptu collective writing session will be directed by Marcos Xalabarder, founder of Escritura En Vivo Barcelona, ​​and this year will focus on the elaboration of a graphic story, combining improvised writing and projected drawing.
To these two activities of closure, traditional in the project, Books That Matter is added, the new action of promotion of reading announced a few days ago and consisting of a massive exchange of books to which the entire municipality of Cartagena is summoned as well as any visitor who wishes to participate.
