Through the SABIC Spain Foundation, volunteers from the company have visited three schools in municipalities near the industrial complex, with the aim of promoting entrepreneurship among students within an educational program of the Junior Achievement Foundation, which seeks to inspire young people to achieve their goals and awaken in them the entrepreneurial spirit.
To do this, these volunteers have moved to two schools in La Aljorra, CEIP La Aljorra and CEIP Miguel de Cervantes of La Aljorra and CEIP Professor Enrique Tierno de Lobosillo, where they have developed this initiative for 6 weeks.
The program prepares students to face the world of work, equipping them with the necessary tools and focusing on values such as teamwork, initiative, overcoming or environmental commitment.
Carlos Sanjuan, Day Coordinator of the R & D department at SABIC, said: "This year has been the third time that I have participated in this program and once again it has been a very rewarding activity." "
The program that SABIC has been carrying out for more than 10 years and that is imparted through participatory and playful activities, has included in this occasion a section focused on the city, in which students learn in addition to how it works, such practical things how to manage different types of businesses or how to start a business, to work as a team, make rational decisions to have critical thinking and develop ideas through the acquisition of skills to innovate and be entrepreneurs.
On the other hand, Domingo Herrero Hernández, Director of the CEIP Professor Enrique Tierno de Lobosillo, affirmed that "the work of the SABIC volunteers gives a different support with extra motivation for the students It is very beneficial to have people who are teachers during one hour a week and whose work is not directly related to education.
