With the collaboration of the Vice-Rector for Research of the Catholic University, the exhibition reveals, until May 13 at its facilities in Los Dolores, the life and activity of 34 prestigious researchers in active world reference and their contribution to the advancement of knowledge .
The exhibition "Entre Científicas", produced by the Seneca Foundation of the Autonomous Community, has been installed today at the Campus of the UCAM in Cartagena, where it can be visited until May 13 in its pavilion 2 of the facilities of the Cartagena neighborhood of Los Dolores .
'Entre Científicas' shows the life and activity of 34 prestigious active and world-renowned researchers and their contribution to the advancement of knowledge in fields such as biology, medicine, economics, the environment, etc., collecting their own voice through of phrases capable of defining their vision of the research work and their vision of the role of science itself.
In addition to voice, the exhibition unites science and art, since the artist Katarzyna Rogowicz has been contacted to portray the scientists.
All materials are available on the Seneca Foundation website so that they can be used in the classroom and by families, with access to complementary information about the scientists present at the exhibition.
Under the slogan of Margarita Salas "Women are not going to arrive, they are already there", this exhibition tries to make the role and participation of women in science more visible by exploiting the strength of the scientific role model, as a means to inspire a greater number of young people to develop their talent in the laboratories of universities, research organizations and companies.
The installation of the exhibition at the Los Dolores Campus has been promoted by the Vice Chancellor for Research of the UCAM, which during the last two years has also strengthened the research activity in Cartagena through the celebration of congresses, the Scientific Olympics and the defense of doctoral theses.
In addition, with the first promotion of the degrees of Nursing, Physiotherapy, Criminology, Infant and Primary Education, and Physical Activity and Sports Sciences, the first final degree projects have been carried out.
