Among the main measures highlights the commitment that the city has a Municipal Theater and the drafting of a Strategic Plan and a specific budget, "where PP and PSOE dragged their feet, Cs will walk firmly," says the liberal spokesman
Ciudadanos has signed an agreement with the Permanent Performing Arts Commission of Cartagena, in which the Liberal Party commits to include in its electoral program a battery of proposals that this group has drafted with the aim of dignifying this cultural sector that they believe has been "systematically forgotten".
In the act for the signature attended the president of the Commission, Alfredo Ávila, and the actor and producer, José Antonio Ortas.
Among the main measures is the commitment that Cartagena has a Municipal Theater of public management with a program according to the important scenic tradition of the municipality.
In this sense, the spokesman of Cs Cartagena, Manuel Padín, remembers the commitment of his party to recover the Central Cinema so that it can be the great venue of the scenic arts of Cartagena.
Under the signed agreement, Cs is committed to implementing a Strategic Plan for the Performing Arts of Cartagena and to provide a specific and dignified budget for this sector to carry out the projects included in the Plan, "where PP and PSOE They dragged their feet, Cs will walk firmly, it's already time for Cartagena to return to be the capital of the performing arts of the Spanish southeast, "says Manuel Padín.
Luzzy and Torres Park
Citizens will also evaluate and resolve the needs that the Ramón Alonso Luzzy Cultural Center currently has.
The president of the Permanent Commission, Alfredo Sanchez, says that it is urgent to act on the sound system, lighting, hoists, toilets and calls for the opening of the Center on Saturdays and holidays.
Another key point of the agreement is the technical habilitation of the Torres de Torres Auditorium;
the high cost for renting equipment for the development of specific events makes it prohibitive to use this emblematic space of the city for many groups, "an accessible and fully equipped auditorium will allow the de facto recovery of this leading space in the implementation of scene of shows ".
The improvement of the promotion of the cultural production of Cartagena through all available means is another of the highlights of the agreement.
Circuit of Performing Arts of Cartagena
The Commission urges to publicize, review and improve the now incipient circuit of local artistic production.
For Manuel Padín, the current Performing Arts Circuit, "it has been an achievement, but there are still many things to improve, such as the proper coexistence of amateur and professional theater, or the most obvious: Cartagena does not have a network of adequate infrastructures in its neighborhoods and councils to be able to host this type of activities because a euro has not been invested for decades to provide the municipality with sufficient and adequate scenic spaces, in this sense, our circuit is necessarily limited.
The Commission urges the City Council to promote the presence of Theater and Dance in schools as fundamental training activities and to support all existing public and private schools of Theater and Dance.
