The activities of the Cartagena Piensa program, organized by the Department of Culture of the City of Cartagena, focus this week on the deputation of the Llano del Beal, which will begin this Thursday with May 2 at 7 pm with the round table 'Cultural Heritage and Miner in the Diputación del Beal: Situation and Possibilities of the Future 'in the Casa del Pueblo in collaboration with the Sierra Minera Foundation and Federation of Neighborhood Associations of Cartagena and Region.

The deputation of the Beal has a valuable cultural heritage, especially industrial-mining and paleontological.
From the studies that are being carried out by the Sierra Minera Foundation, the talk will analyze the situation of all this heritage and its possibilities for conservation and enhancement, and be structuring elements of the identity and future of the deputation.
The activities continue on Sunday May 5 with a guided tour "Llano del Beal: Lirio mining complex".
It will start at 9:30 am from the Village House of El Llano del Beal and ends at 2:00 p.m.
in the same place with a maximum group of 40 people.
Registration is free, including the round trip in Feve.

Interest of the route
Itinerary guided on foot through the surroundings of the Llano del Beal with the aim of promoting greater knowledge of the cultural and natural heritage of its environment, as well as the problems of pollution that mining has left in the area, aimed at both neighbors of the deputation as of other zones of Cartagena.
The route will be circular, from the Casa del Pueblo of Llano del Beal to the Mining Complex of El Lirio, ending once again at the Casa del Pueblo.
The walking route can be completed with the round trip from Cartagena in the FEVE.
It will depart at 9:30 am from the House of the People of El Llano del Beal and the monument to the miner, with a tour of the town in which you can visit the most interesting buildings of this mining town, such as El Casino and La Cabin.
From there an itinerary will be made to the Mining Complex of El Lirio, where you can learn about and value the important mining-industrial heritage that houses this emblematic area of ​​the Sierra Minera: castilletes, ovens, laundries, tunnels, open-air fellings ...), as well as its valuable natural heritage, with stunning landscapes and full of contrasts, in which the heritage values ​​and the environmental impacts derived from mining activity are crossed.
The tour will conclude again at the Casa del Pueblo, at 2:00 pm, where it can be complemented with a meal in this emblematic space of the history of the workers' movement of the region.
