A little less than a month before the end of the legislature, the dynamic that has been a constant throughout the last two years is maintained.
The work of MC Cartagena from the opposition has been the only oxygen balloon that the neighbors have counted on to see their surroundings improved.
Thus, the residents of Alameda San Antón have been able to verify the progress in the repaving work of one of the main arteries of the municipality.
This action, valued at 380,000 euros, is the result of one of the twenty-seven amendments with which the Cartagena-based training remedied the socialist budget of 2018, electoralist and lacking in response to local needs.
In line with this performance, the president of MC, Jesus Giménez, regretted "the PSOE's chronic delay in making viable what was approved since June 2018. Not content with that, they take on what they already wanted. contemplated in an integral way, such as the reform of the Plaza de Alicante and the median of the Paseo Alfonso XIII, an initiative that has been cut off at will with the omnipresence of the mandate of the Plenary ".
"The Socialists, as the popular ones did in the Barreiro era, have returned to shake hands to forget the arrangement and maintenance of the main roads of the municipality, possibly due to their short-term vision of thinking that they will not obtain immediate revenue", has argued.
"The Plaza de Alicante is one of the many actions that we managed to include in the last socialist budget not executed during 2018. Once again, the incapacity and irresponsibility of the mayor paid by the Cartagena, in this way, the devastating effect 'Caostejón 'has caused the 2019 budget (non-existent) is practically exhausted to April 30 and the government that is formed after May 26 will be found handcuffed and minimized in its action. "
Repaving the Alameda de San Antón
In this way, last May of 2018, aware of the importance that the Alameda de San Antón has as one of the main arteries of the city, MC Cartagena presented, within its battery of amendments to the municipal Budget, the resurfacing of this way, for which a total amount of 380,000 euros was required.
At that time, the Cartagena training highlighted that "the road surface of the car parks is quite deteriorated in some areas".
Likewise, he recalled that, due to its importance, an attempt was made to tender the resurfacing project during 2017, but due to various errors in the same, it had to be discarded.
Lack of commitment of the socialist government with the Cartagena
Of the total of twenty-seven amendments submitted by MC and approved by 24 of the 27 councilors that make up the Plenary Session of the City Council, some of the most important, such as the construction of an office in Santa Ana, the reform of the Plaza de la Merced, the adaptation of the surroundings of the Amphitheater or the pedestrian refurbishment of the Torreciega bridge.
In this regard, Jesus Giménez has concluded by saying that "it is a clear sign of the lack of commitment of the socialist government with the Cartagena, which makes it clear that the PSOE alone has been harmful to Cartagena and only positive for the concessionaires, an unfortunate return to the old and outdated form of politics of the PP that, fortunately, is coming to an end. "
