The Alameda de San Antón will withstand successive traffic cuts for about a month due to the asphalt works of the rolling area and parking, as reported by the Department of Public Services and Public Safety.
Today the first cut was made on the way to San Antón, on the stretch between the Plaza de España and the intersection with Avenida Reina Victoria.
It is foreseen that in this first section, between today and tomorrow, Tuesday, the reduction of the current level of the asphalt conglomerate will be carried out through its milling and its total replacement with a new asphalt layer.
As a result, vehicle traffic to the Alameda is being diverted by Juan Fernández and Reina Victoria streets, as well as bus lines.
From Thursday the cut will be extended to the section between the junction of Queen Victoria and Trafalgar Street, and on Friday, from this last street to the Plaza de María Cristina, although the roundabout of the shield will remain open to traffic.
The following week, it is expected that the final touches will be given and horizontal signage will be enabled;
while the works and traffic cuts in the direction of San Antón towards Plaza de España, have been scheduled from the week of May 13 to 17.
