AMEP Cartagena, is an association that was born with the objective of supporting and promoting the development of businesswomen, directives and autonomous of Cartagena and its region.
They usually participate in conferences, seminars, fairs, courses and meetings to make visible the figure of women in the business sector.
This year, as a novelty, women entrepreneurs will be awarded in the 1st edition of the AMEP Awards 'Women who add up', which will take place this Thursday, May 2, at 8 pm, at the El Batel Municipal Auditorium.
The presentation, today Monday, of the gala, which is organized by AMEP in collaboration with the City of Cartagena, took place at the Town Hall and was attended by the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, the president of the Association of businesswomen and professionals from Cartagena, Nuria Castillo, the general secretary of COEC, Ana Correa and members of the board of directors of AMEP.
The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, highlighted the work of the AMEP Cartagena association and said that "we must break the schemes so that there is no glass ceiling but full equality."
"Success does not mean gender but sacrifice and effort" stressed Ana Belén Castejón, stating that "society and administrations must raise the voice of women", as AMEP does through this awards ceremony.
This award ceremony aims to distinguish and recognize the work of those entrepreneurs, professionals, entities that have carried out key actions in the sector and that throughout their lives have stood out in the workplace or are beginning to open in the business fabric.
The president of AMEP, Nuria Castillo, has qualified that the main objective is to "recognize the value of women entrepreneurs who perform the same functions as men and succeed."
The winners and the prizes are the following:
Businesswoman Woman Award: María Gómez, from the Magoga restaurant.
Innovation and Female Entrepreneurship Award: Costanza Más, the designer of clothes changes color with the mood.
Women's Promotion Award: Spanish Federation of Women Directors, Executives, Professionals and Businesswomen.
Communication Committed to Women Award: Chelo Canovas, from Radio Gaceta FM.
The prizes that will be delivered at the El Batel Auditorium are designed by the sculptor Maite Defruc, where "the sonority of women" is represented.
Nuria Castillo concluded by stating that "equality must not understand political colors, but everyone must fight for it and for conciliation to avoid discrimination."
