About 120 students of 3rd grade of the San Vicente Paul school have made a day of athletics in their own educational center with leaders, monitors and athletes from the Athletics Clubs Elcano and UCAM Cartagena through the ADE Program of the Department of Sports.
The first part of the day was developed in a digital classroom, where schoolchildren had a meeting with the responsible Toñi López, vice president of Elcano and Juan Alfonso Garcia, president of UCAM Cartagena with athletes and instructors Alberto Ferrer, Blanca Peñuelas , Paloma Esteban and Marta Meroño, having an approach, firstly with videos and images about the sport of athletics, and also about the experiences lived by the athletes and in relation to how they prepare and feed.
The small school children have also had the opportunity to ask questions to be interested in aspects related to athletics and some curiosities of the athletes themselves.
Next, the practical part of the center's sports courts where students have had the opportunity to show their skill and physical aptitude in the tests adapted to the athletics of races, jumps and throws in the format "Playing athletics" aimed precisely at have an approach to the sport itself.
Great day lived in the school San Vicente Paul, where students of 7 and 8 years have made an approach to athletics by the hand of athletes from Cartagena and have competed nationally and internationally.
The ADE program is organized by the Department of Sports of the City of Cartagena and the Official College of Graduates in Physical Education and Sports of the Autonomous Community.
