Last Thursday, April 25, took place the III Encounter of Literary Stories of the Local Table of Immigrant Women in the Hall of Agronomists of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, presented by the Councilor of the Area of ​​Social Services, Education and Transparency, Mercedes García Gómez, and has had Rosa Garcia Oliver, writer Cartagena, as godmother of the act.
At the meeting, which was attended by about 150 attendees, have read stories made by women attending the workshops of the various entities of social action that make up the "Local Table of Immigrant Women", written stories at individual level and also group, all under the same title "MY FLIGHT ...", symbolizing their own migratory experiences.
The stories were read in Spanish and in the mother tongue of their authors, women belonging to the entities that are part of the Local Table of Immigrant Women of Cartagena.
The Local Table of Immigrant Women, is a work group made up of different social action entities that work in the municipality with groups of promotion of immigrant women: Accem, Cepaim, Alraso, Rascasa, Cáritas La Palma, Murcia Acoge, Columbares, Project Abraham, Federation of AAVV, Intercultural Center of Los Dolores, Intercultural Center of the Old Town and the Department of Equality of the City of Cartagena.
Coordinated said table by the Unit of Immigration and Development Cooperation of the Department of Social Services.
From the same activities of coexistence and citizen participation are managed, as well as the participation of women in municipal actions is promoted.
