"He returned one night" arrives this Friday, April 26, at the New Theater Circus of Cartagena with Beatriz Carvajal, Carlos Santos and Cartagena Pedro Segura.
This comedy directed by César Oliva also features in his cast with Daniel Ortiz, Berta Hernández and Mónica Gracia with the special collaboration of Pedro Casablanc.
It will be at 21:00 and there are still tickets from 20 euros.
"Volvió una noche" is a comedy by Eduardo Rovner, whose first performance took place in Montevideo, in 1993. Later it was premiered in Buenos Aires, later moving to stages in countries as different as United States, Cuba, Mexico, Israel, Finland , Brazil, Paraguay and the Czech Republic.
In the latter, in Ostrava specifically, is in repertoire since 2003. The versions and translations, then, have been considerable.
Up to now, in Spain it has not been able to appear more than in the university theater regime.
The work is, without a doubt, one of the best of its author and contemporary dramaturgy written in Spanish.
Although it raises serious issues such as the demystification of death, determinism, the influence of the past in the present or the conflict between tradition and modernity, it always does so from humor, paradox and a deep theatricality full of successes.
In some sense it is inscribed in the line of the theater beyond, but with touches of renewal that remind of the best Jardiel Poncela and the cleverest Noël Coward.
The version of Bonjour mon amour eliminates certain references typical of Argentine culture, extending to a more open, more cosmopolitan dramatic space if you like, in which its main themes appear in all their fullness.
For this, it has a set (Francisco Leal) full of imagination, illuminated so that the real planes are confused with the unreal ones (Jesús Palazón) and a staging (César Oliva) as sincere as effective.
