Lesbian Visibility Day is celebrated every year in various parts of the world as a way to demand equal rights for lesbians.
This year is commemorated in the city with an act of lesbian visibility in the Plaza Icue, organized by the Department of Equality of the City of Cartagena in collaboration with the collective GALACTYCO.
In it, participants will be given a text, attached to this information, about the invisibility of lesbian women throughout history and why the need for a day dedicated to it.
Prior to the events in the Plaza Icue, at 10 am, in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento de Cartagena, the Councilor for Equality, David Martínez, together with representatives of the collective GALACTYCO will raise the flag of the lesbian visibility.
Finally, and as a culmination to the acts of this day, in the Plaza del Icue de Cartagena, from 17:30 hours will be installed an informative display, will also be made reading a manifesto, at 19 hours.
The councilor is also expected to attend.
