This Thursday, April 25, at 7:00 p.m., in the Hall of Ceremonies of the Consistorial Palace, Jesús Aguado, winner of the XXXII International Poetry Prize 'Antonio Oliver Belmás', presents his book 'Dice Kabir and other poems', a distinction that He met on November 19 when the jury failed the award.
The event will be chaired by the Councilor for Culture of the City of Cartagena, David Martínez and the director of the Popular University, José Macián.
The winner Jesús Aguado will be accompanied in the presentation of the work of Juan de Dios García, Cartagena poet.
In this last edition, 165 works competed from different places in Spain, as well as Belgium, France, United Kingdom, Portugal, Germany, Colombia, Mexico, Argentina, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Ecuador, USA, Israel and Japan.
What shows the recognition of this award in the international scene.
Not being a requirement to participate Spanish nationality, provided that their works are presented in Spanish.
This prize that emerged in the heart of the Popular University of Cartagena in recognition of the work of its founder the illustrious poet Antonio Oliver Belmás, who together with his wife Carmen Conde created this institution and promoted the cultural, social and educational life of our municipality .
This prize is endowed with 6,000 euros and is published by the Editorial-Pretextos.
As for the winning work this year, Vicente Gallego said on behalf of the jury that this is one of the most exciting books he had read, that he had been awarded a magic book in which, through the poem Says Kabir, his The author, who puts himself in the shoes of an Indian poet, talks to us about the world from the perspective of emptiness.
