This morning, the mayoral candidate for MC Cartagena, José López;
the members of the cartagenerista municipal Group, Isabel García, María José Soler and Ricardo Segado;
the president of the formation, Jesús Giménez, as well as members of the candidacy of MC to the next municipal elections, have visited the traditional market that is weekly installed in the esplanade attached to the Cenit Shopping Center.
There, they have had a meeting with the representative of the Cooperativa de Venta Ambulante de Cartagena, Pedro Furió, together with whom they have analyzed the difficult situation with which the street markets in the municipality must coexist daily and the problems generated in this sector by the Government action of the PSOE.
Almost 300 unassigned positions
As a starting point, Lopez has begun his speech by noting that, currently, there are "269 seats without granting, with families living in a single position because there is no way to award the pending," he said.
A situation that has special incidence in three of the markets of more tradition and monitoring.
Thus, there are 40 unassigned posts in the Cabo de Palos, 39 in the Cenit and 30 in the Mediterranean Urbanization.
To alleviate this circumstance, the Cartagena spokesman has pointed out some of the issues that have remained unresolved by the Socialist Mayor's Office.
"From the institutional level it was necessary to provide the service with sufficient administrative staff to articulate a more agile protocol in the allocation of vacancies, so that if you bid once and you do not get a job, stay in the stock market while waiting for vacancies. "
In another vein, the Cartagena leader has advanced proposals such as "working on an application so that each 'mercadillero' has its QR code, which would house all the information of the position, knowing if it is up to date with payments and procedures , the rapid identification of the owners, workers, etc. "
Later, it has slipped other of aesthetic character like "the unification of colors of the awnings and canvases of the posts in order to have a uniformity".
Also, as a challenge for the future has informed the possibility of "creating specific markets for the days that cruise ships visit us to locate on Gisbert Street, which would expand the facade of the city, producing in turn a 'call' to the cruisers to get in there. "
Finally, the mayoral candidate for MC Cartagena explained that "in order to bring this activity also to the center of the municipality, we could value installing a traditional market around the Santa Florentina Market, Carlos III, Juan Fernandez and Paseo Alfonso XIII in which the shops in the area could take their places to the street and thus make the two types of sales coexist, so that the Shopping Center becomes an open and alive center ".
Socialist laziness
For his part, Pedro Furió lamented "the tremendous neglect in the allocation of vacancies", putting the accent on an activity that supposes the sustenance of more than ten people.
He has also invited to check "the quality of the products sold here".
Finally, he has shown his satisfaction with the proposal of MC in relation to a market for cruise passengers, defending an activity that has deep roots in large European capitals such as Paris or Prague, which prioritize this type of accessible and direct market in the deal with the client.
Finally, Furió regretted that there have been up to three changes, during the current legislature, in the municipal responsible for this activity.
