Next Saturday, April 27, there will be the show of the dancer Iván Vargas, with the cante by Joni Cortés and the guitar of Luis Mariano Renedo, organized by the Peña Flamenca de Cartagena "Antonio Piñana" in the Athenas Club room, on Cuatro Street Saints.
The recital is part of the VI Cartagena Cartagena Jonda, this year dedicated to Granada and has the collaboration of the Department of Culture of the City of Cartagena.
ABOUT THE DANCER
Iván, from the saga of the Maya, Manolete's nephew, Juan Maya and Mario Maya was born in the Sacromonte of Granada, specifically in the cave "La Rocío", he jumps to fame since he was little, making himself known to the general public by intervening in television programs like "Quédate con la copla", "What I sing to you", and already at the age of 8, it is presented in Madrid by Cristóbal Reyes in the prestigious Madrid tablao "Zambra." El País, in an article by the period defines him as "intuitive, vocational, but he does it with such professionalism that no one ever took it as the graces of a child".
From there he works for several consecutive years in the tablaos - Casa Patas, Corral de la Pacheca, Café de Chinitas ..., getting to participate at the age of 10 years, together with Miguel Bosé, at the Seville Biennial.
The young granaíno has worked with the maestro Enrique Morente, with the company of his daughter Estrella, Marina Heredia, Manuel Liñán, with his uncle Manolete ... and has shared the stage with José Mercé or Pansequito, among many others.
Her dance has surprised theaters around the world, and she has participated in the most important festivals of the flamenco scene: the Festival de Jerez, the Guitar Festival of Córdoba, the Festival de Nimes and the Flamenco Festival of London, sharing the poster in the latter with Farruquito and Diego Carrasco.
He accompanies Iván one of the most interesting voices of the current flamenco scene, that of the also Granaíno Joni Cortés, a long cantaor with a flamenco "quejío", and a great sense of compass, who has worked with all the great flamenco dance figures and with the that Ivan feels especially comfortable.
Complete the cast of Luis Mariano Renedo's magic guitar, which combines an exquisite technique with a magnificent mastery of the compass and the characteristic sensitivity of the Granada School.
