'Without knots', an exhibition of ce3gallery that helps to reflect on the common tie, or in its defect the little bird, arrives at the Byzantine Wall of Cartagena.
The exhibition will be inaugurated on April 26, at 7:00 pm, by the Councilor for Culture of the City of Cartagena, David Martínez, and may be visited until June 30.
The exhibition consists of interventions on real ties or bows or representations in different scales, supports and disciplines such as painting, sculpture, installation, photography and drawing, reaching hybridization in several of the proposals.
Regarding the topics discussed, we can find reflections on nonconformity as a way to prevent social roles suffocate us;
tributes to the union between the masculine and the feminine, through the figure of Lili Elbe;
paper garments that stage traditional stories;
contestant Street Art icons;
futuristic cyberpunk garments;
bow ties that remind us of the end of certainties;
demands to political power to give visibility to people with autism through art;
representations of the tie as an instrument for executing roles, a symbol of power imposed or invested without conscience;
or as a garment that drowns, feeds, vindicates, decorates, isolates, positions and marginalizes.
Through this balanced repertoire, we propose an aesthetic analysis on the social and historical influence of a garment that has been a representative stereotype perpetuated in society and therefore worthy of the analysis or subversion of its masculine role.
