Cartagena, Saturday, April 13.
The neighbors of the Aljorra demand public facilities, services and policies that promote the promotion of local commerce and the reactivation of the real estate market to avoid the risk of depopulation in the locality.
This has been one of the main demands that the Association of Neighbors of La Aljorra has moved the spokesman and candidate of Cs to the mayor of Cartagena, Manuel Padín, who has met with the collective in the Civic Center to collect their main needs.
For his part, Manuel Padín has ensured that Ciudadanos will launch in 2019 the Local Socioeconomic Observatory as a body that will guide the budgetary policies in the municipality for a fair distribution for which previously studied "the evolution of those territories with a greater deficit in services and infrastructures, which suffer from marginalization in local and regional public investments and which are suffering from the phenomenon of depopulation, unemployment, and poverty in an outstanding and significant manner ".
The spokesman for the Liberal Party recalled that the Tax Agency specifically points to La Aljorra, along with El Albujón, as the two towns with the lowest income in Spain with 16,265 and 15,998 euros, when the municipality average is 20,548.
At the regional level, Manuel Padín has recalled the unwavering commitment of his party to take forward the Local Financing Law, "until a match that makes justice and equality its hallmark as Cs, the investment will not arrive that a municipality like ours needs and deserves. "
Citizens wants to end decades of unfair municipal budgets of PP and PSOE, with the capricious and unfair distribution of municipal and regional investment, "the loss of basic services due to lack of public investment, employment opportunities and urban deterioration are factors that damage seriously to our neighborhoods and councils, "said the orange spokesman who has set an example of what happens in La Aljorra, but also in neighborhoods such as" La Concepción, San Antón, Virgen de la Caridad, deputations like El Beal, and even areas from the Historic Quarter of Cartagena, if these territories are left behind, Cartagena will not advance ".
Infrastructures and services
The neighbors demand the creation of a library, a study room, a covered sports pavilion so that young people can practice sport and that the current and limited practice becomes a health center, a historical demand that began to be claimed in the year 2010 and to which still the Regional Administration of the PP has not responded;
The president of the neighborhood collective, Francisco Cavas, believes that more than 5,000 booklets and the potential epidemiological factors of the environment make this demand a necessity for the population.
Security, pending
The increase in security is another of its main demands, residents demand the installation of surveillance cameras at the entrances to the town to control the vehicles entering and leaving La Aljorra after a robbery or altercation, the establishment of a barracks the Local Police, and an effective plan to control irregular and violent occupation in the area;
in this sense they have reported that they have created communication spaces through their mobiles to organize citizen pickets of pressure when they detect an attempt to occupy a building, "when the neighbors feel obliged to do so, it is because their City Council has abandoned them", regrets Padin who remembers that as soon as Cs can implant the plan of shock for the neighborly coexistence and against the squatting and narcophones.
As for the space left by the current schools when the new center is built, they ask that the plot not be sold and that the infrastructures be used by the Community for the installation of some of the public facilities mentioned above, and for the authorization of a center for day stays or residence for the elderly.
Regarding the specific claims of municipal competition, the neighbors demand the reform of the Plaza La Suiza and the renovation of the sidewalks, improve the lighting and the asphalting of the streets El Camino, San Lucas, Travesía La Suiza, San Bartolomé, Antonio , and adjacent.
They also require the same improvements in the greenway as it passes through La Aljorra along with the installation of urban furniture.
The lack of maintenance in parks and gardens has also focused a good part of their claims.
Hydraulic needs
The tank of unfinished storms, the use of the environment for public use, the recovery of the municipal project for the channeling of runoff from the environment of La Aljorra in 2016, and the sewer system in Los Barberos and Estrases, are three objectives for which they demand its execution this year.
