The Museum of the Roman Theater of Cartagena, whose patronage is integrated by the Autonomous Community, the City of Cartagena and the Cajamurcia Foundation, extends its visiting hours during Holy Week and will remain open from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
In addition, it will be available on Holy Monday (April 15) and on Easter Monday (April 22), from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The Holy Week in Cartagena is one of the three of the Region declared of International Tourist Interest and there are many tourists who arrive in the port city during these days.
With the aim of expanding the cultural and patrimonial offer and complementing the processional parades that are celebrated each day, which is the most visited museum in the Region intensifies its activity by also programming routes and visits.
The special program begins today, Friday of Dolores, with a Day of Open Doors in the Roman Theater.
Throughout the day, visitors can enjoy free of charge the museum tour that culminates with the vision of the monument, as well as the temporary exhibitions' Your presence ', in which Victoria Chezner delves into the landscape, and the photographic project' Mirada a the resurrection'.
The Museum of the Roman Theater has also programmed various activities with Cartagena Port of Cultures to be held throughout the Holy Week.
The theatrical route 'Romans for the world: destination Carthago Nova', designed especially for families, will allow you to visit the most important sites, meeting different characters in the Roman Theater, the Forum Quarter and the Casa de la Fortuna and discovering what the life in Carthago Nova.
It will be on Saturdays, April 13 and 20, at 11:30 am, departing from the Roman Theater itself.
On Sundays 14 and 21 April (11:30 am) it will be the turn of the guided tour 'Treasures of Rome: the Muses of Carthago nova', through which the Roman treasures of the city, including the three jewels, will be explained. pictorial that appeared in the excavations of the Forum neighborhood and knowing the richness of classical art of ancient Rome.

Also on weekends (Saturdays and Sundays), at 11:00 a.m., will be organized the 'Virtual visit to the Roman Theater of Cartagena: new experiences', a tour that allows to know the Roman building through virtual reality, which It will immerse the visitor in the old theater, as it was in Roman times, visualizing it in 360 degrees and even flying over it.
During the week, from Monday 15 to Wednesday 17 (11:30 am), and within the activity 'Historias con sabor', the route 'Cartagena Tres Culturas' will take place, which will reveal the medieval history and the confluence of the Christian, Jewish and Muslim cultures in Cartagena and in the Region of Murcia.
The tour will start in the panoramic elevator and the castle of La Concepción, from where the whole city can be seen.
The visit will continue along the church of Santa María la Mayor until you reach the Museum of the Roman Theater and end with the tasting of a typical tapa of Jewish or Muslim cuisine.
'Temples: between the pagan and the divine' is, finally, the route scheduled for Thursday and Friday, April 18 and 19 (11:30 am).
