ESO students create interactive videos with alternative endings at the Polytechnic of Cartagena (11/04/2019)

Hugo Martínez and Miguel Sánchez, students of ESO of the IES Mediterranean of Cartagena, had to make an interactive video during their internship at the Digital Content Production Center (CPCD) of the UPCT, but in the absence of ideas they decided to relax playing basketball or taking the scooter.

The viewer of the video that these young people have created and starred in must choose the path they follow thanks to the interactive multimedia platform developed by the Polytechnic of Cartagena.

As in the movie Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, the decisions made by the viewer decide the fate of the protagonists, in this case the note they get.

But regardless of the end of the video, the two 15-year-old students have taken their step through the UPCT, in which they have spent three days, an unforgettable memory of their first contact with the world of work.

"When I grow up I want to work in the field of multimedia content and I already have video editing tools on my home computer," said Hugo.

"I chose to do these practices here because I want to study some engineering, although I still do not know which," commented his classmate Miguel.

These students and others from IES San Isidoro who will emulate them after the holidays chose to carry out their experience of inclusion in the labor market in a professional environment in the Digital Content Production Center of the UPCT, which for the second consecutive year participates in this teaching innovation project.

The CPCD also collaborates with students of the Baccalaureate of Investigation of several educational centers creating interactive informative contents.

"The students have scripted their own story through an interactive map and have participated in the recording, editing and post-production of the video, acquiring notions of how the daily work is here," explains his tutor in these three-day practices, Daniel Pérez

"The goal is to make use of technology to tell what interests them most," adds the head of the R & D + i area of the CPCD.

With this video with alternative endings, the CPCD is launching the interactive platform they have developed, with multiple potentialities in teaching innovation projects.
