"The knowledge of the corruption patterns within the Administration has been possible thanks to the courage of public officials and employees who have denounced the irregularities that are committed in the work environment in which they develop their work", explains the spokesperson of the liberal party in Cartagena

Citizens will promote this year the creation of a municipal body and protocol so that public employees can report cases of corruption and irregularities "without fear of reprisals, with total protection, security, freedom and anonymity," the party spokesman announced today. liberal in Cartagena, Manuel Padín, who has reported that in the coming days will meet with the unions that make up the Personnel Board of the City of Cartagena, UGT, CCOO and SIME to present the details of the proposal.

In the month of July 2017, Citizens took forward in the ordinary plenary session a motion for the City Council to urge the regional government to develop as soon as possible a legal norm of regional scope that would establish a framework of legal protection for public officials and employees who denounce episodes of corruption within the Public Administration.

After more than two years, the regional government of the PP has not wanted to do anything about it, so Cs Cartagena has gone a step further, at the municipal level, and has committed to start up as of May the relevant procedures for specifically and effectively address this mechanism, "to create spaces of confidentiality to the complainant and that, in the event of possible irregularities, they can activate a protocol that fully guarantees the protection of their working conditions".

The orange training also wants that companies, suppliers and citizens in general are equally protected against these possible bad practices in their relationship with the Consistory.

Manuel Padín explained that "during the last years, we have known numerous cases of political corruption in the different levels of the Administration (municipal, regional and national), thanks to the work of the State Security Forces and Corps, and to the judicial investigations and journalistic. "
