The edile of Public Service, Manuel Mora, has closed this morning an agreement with the company Gil Sillas by which he has been awarded directly the contract for the Holy Week chairs for the next two years worth 85,000 euros, due to that the contest that the City Council called was deserted.
Specifically, the amount for this year is 40,000 euros and for the next 45,000 euros.
"For us the most important thing was that next Friday of Dolores the chairs were already installed in the streets of Cartagena, to offer the service that the Cartagena people demand and that the Brotherhoods of Holy Week require.
For its part, the company wanted guarantees that in 2020 they would be able to have this contract, so we have finally awarded for two years, "said the mayor.
Another of the novelties of the contract is that it reflects the compromise reached with Hostecar whereby the Holy Week chairs will not be installed in front of terraces and night tables of hotel establishments.
