The main hall of the Consistorial Palace once again hosted the delivery of the Processionist of the Year Award, which this time corresponded to the californio Rafael Ruiz Manteca, president of the grouping of the Ossuary and pregonero of the Holy Week of 2005.
The event was organized by the Association Procession Award of the Year with the collaboration of the City of Cartagena.
It was chaired by the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, along with the president of the association, Santiago Díaz Izquierdo, Admiral of Acción Marítma, Juan Luis Sobrino, and military commander, Carlos Frías.
Also they were the councilman of Culture, David Martinez, the brothers majors of the four brotherhoods, councilmen of the municipal Corporation, civil and military authorities, pregonero, nazarena major and representatives of organizations and groups of Holy Week.
After reading the failure of the award and a semblance of the 2019 Procession, the president of the association and founding the prize 38 years ago, Santiago Diaz Izquierdo, who praised the work of Rafael Ruiz Manteca and gave him the title.
Then the representatives of institutions and groups of Holy Week intervened, who were giving various gifts.
Finally Rafael Ruiz Manteca, who thanked the samples of affection received and the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, who closed the ceremony by imposing a golden shield of the city to the procession and delivering a plaque of recognition for his 38 years at the head of the organization of this award to Santiago Díaz.
The interpretation of the anthem to Cartagena, with all the attendees standing, put the finishing touch.
