The president of the Community, Fernando López Miras, attended today in Cartagena the inauguration of the Alfonso XIII hotel, following the renovation works that have been carried out in this historic establishment, which opened its doors in 1976 and which has now been transformed in "a more modern and accessible hotel, which is committed to energy efficiency and has all the amenities to expand the Cartagena offer".
"This is just the reflection of what we want for the Region of Murcia: a region open to quality tourism, which leaves wealth and generates growth and employment in our cities," said Lopez Miras, who reiterated his commitment to the tourism sector, and he highlighted the contribution to the same of the International Airport of the Region of Murcia, with 22 routes that connect with Europe, and that will allow this year to reach 6 million visitors.
