Ten firefighters rescuers with all-terrain vehicles, along with about thirty volunteers and emergency coordinators of Civil Protection of the City of Cartagena, will collaborate on Saturday, April 6, in the development of the Route of the Fortresses.
The ten firefighters rescuers will attend the mishaps that may suffer the 3,800 runners and marchers especially in areas of difficult access, such as the locations of Sierra Gorda or Atalaya.
For its part, Civil Protection of the City of Cartagena will bring to the test two coordination operators, 15 emergency volunteers, five team leaders and two service coordinators.
Likewise, it will use two quad vehicles, three fast-track all-terrain vehicles and a coordination vehicle on the device.
In this case, Civil Protection volunteers will be distributed throughout the tour to attend any incident or emergency.
For many of them it will be their first intervention as volunteers in an event, after recently passing the training process and collecting last week their diplomas from the hands of the councilman of Security, Manuel Mora.
REACTIVATION OF CIVIL PROTECTION
After the incorporation last December of the new Civil Protection coordinator, the activity of this municipal department was reactivated, with the training of new volunteers and the promotion of the most veteran volunteers.
The training activities were organized from the School of Public Safety of the City of Cartagena (ESPAC), with the collaboration of the Sports Medicine Service, Cartagena Firefighters, 112 Region of Murcia and General Directorate of Citizen Security and Emergencies, among others.
These actions included institutional training, telecommunications, first responders, operators of 112-ECHO coordination centers, management of semiautomatic defibrillators and will soon be expanded with Aquatic Lifeguard, Rescue and Rescue, risk analysis, etc.
After the incorporation of the 39 new volunteers of the 2019 promotion, there are already almost a hundred that make up the Municipal Association of Volunteers of the City of Cartagena, able to tackle infinity of foreseeable risk devices that are developed in the municipality, taking into account the huge activity that the different councils organize.
Currently, the entire mobile and maritime fleet is being reviewed, thirty new communications equipment, first aid and intervention equipment, defibrillators and new uniformity have been incorporated both for volunteers and for the five professionals who have joined the team. they already make up the Civil Protection professional unit.
