The Department of Public Services of the City of Cartagena, directed by Juan Pedro Torralba, has instructed the concessionaire Lhicarsa to carry out an intensive cleaning of the itineraries through which the Holy Week processions will take place.
For a few days two brigades with a tank, high pressure cleaners and scrubbers are used thoroughly in the early hours of the morning to review corners, degrease surfaces and remove with spatulas the hundreds of cicles that are stuck in the pedestrian streets.
Precisely the removal of these chewing gums is one of the most painful tasks carried out by the brigades and from the Department has made an appeal to public awareness, especially the younger ones so that they do not throw chews on the floor after use , but put them in bins.
These intensive cleanings will be maintained during all processions of Holy Week and will be reinforced more if possible during the days of greatest influx of public such as Holy Wednesday, Madrugada of the Meeting and Good Friday.
