The ADE Program of the Department of Sports of Cartagena continues with its Sport + Nutrition = Health meetings in schools in the city and district, this time the meeting was held at the CEIP San Fulgencio de Pozo Estrecho on Monday, April 1 .
Lorena Luján, specialist in nutrition and dietetics for athletes, has given a talk for students of 6th grade in order to introduce them a little more into the world of healthy eating.
The exhibition, adapted to a young audience, was very educational and entertaining for the students, who were able to participate at all times with questions and questions.
First, they talked about food and basic components in healthy diets, talking and being interested in the habits at home of the students.
Then, Lorena gave some basic guidelines of good nutrition, giving as an example what should be a "healthy dish" with colored zones corresponding to each type of food and its nutrients, so that schoolchildren can make their own healthy dish.
The children have accepted the challenge of the nutritionist to take a picture of their own healthy dish that they will make themselves to see if they correctly perform what they learned in the talk.
In addition, they took good note of recipes and healthy habits such as adding more vegetables and fruit to their diet instead of processed foods.
To end the day, some examples with the world of sport aroused the interest of children, giving as an example the diet of the soccer player Messi and how, with good habits and effort, we can achieve a good physical shape.
This initiative provides basic health knowledge and good habits to young people who, increasingly, opt for other types of diets not so healthy.
This is what his teacher María del Mar has said, who sees these initiatives as very successful with meetings with experts that complement the "Healthy Breakfast" plan that the center carries out with food guidelines.
With a dynamic activity of this type and with examples that they themselves can carry out, their interest is aroused and they are made partakers of their own diet.
The ADE program is organized by the Department of Sports of the City of Cartagena and the Official College of Graduates in Physical Education and Sports of the Autonomous Community.
